Zachariah Walker papers, 1805-1859.

Papers of Zachariah Walker, a resident of Woodville, Wilkinson County, Miss., largely consist of receipts and bills for purchases of coffee, sugar, tobacco, shoes and articles of clothing, whiskey, farming and building tools, and cloth. Included among the papers are several slave bills of sale, papers associated with the purchase of land, a receipt for payment of school tuition for two young female students, and a bill from a dentist for the extraction of a tooth. The collection also includes a scattering of promissory notes for sums of money owed to and by Walker.
